For all those who believe money can buy success- especially in sports, think again. Only two of the top spending teams in baseball, Yankees & Phillies, made the post season. The other six teams in the playoffs are not big spenders. It’s yet another reminder that money doesn’t buy championships, it can’t buy happiness, and it doesn’t bring success. To achieve the greatest successes in life as a team, there needs to be a group of people sharing in a common goal, committing themselves to work hard, and having a positive attitude. Sure, having the financial resources and flexibility to spend money gives any team a significant advantage; but if the team is lacking the intangibles, they’re just another baseball team watching the playoff games on TV this year.
