In a world where so many choose to ignore their religious values when confronted with the opportunity to achieve life-long dreams, it’s great to see Northrup show loyalty and dedication to God and his faith, and not succumb to the short term satisfaction that he may receive by winning the state championship.
Whether you agree with his view on the appropriateness of boys wrestling against girls or not, you must applaud him for choosing to stay true to his beliefs and ideals.
Northrup is a real champion. He made the ultimate sacrifice, and that is what religion is all about.
